2020 Presidential and State Election - Information

The following are important dates to bookmark and to ACT NOW:

· The National 2020 Election Day is November 3rd. · National Voting Information can be found at: https://vote.gov/ · South Carolina Voting Information can be found at: https://scvotes.gov/

· The deadline to register in order to participate in an upcoming election is 29 days before the election.

· Early voting starts on Monday October 26, 2020 and goes through Monday, November 2, 2020.

· First presidential debate of the 2020 election will be held September 29th at Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.

· The Vice-Presidential debate between Republican Vice President Mike Pence and Democratic Vice-Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris will be held October 7th, 2020 at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah.

· The Second Presidential Debate will be held October 15th, 2020 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami.

· The Third Presidential debate of the 2020 election will be held October 22, at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

· Members of the Electoral College cast their ballots for president on December 14th, 2020. Under the U.S. system, the winner of each state's popular vote earns that state's electoral votes, which are apportioned by population. The candidate who receives a majority of the 538 electoral votes available, or 270, wins the presidency.

· Congress meets January 6th, 2021 at 1 p.m. in Washington to officially count the electoral votes and declare a winner.

· During Inauguration Day, January 20, 2021 the winner and his running mate are formally sworn in as president and vice president at the U.S. Capitol in Washington.
