Dear Applicant,
the 100 Black Men of Greater Columbia, Inc.'s scholarship application is available to students who maintain full-time status at an accredited, post-secondary institution beginning in the fall of the yar in which they graduate from high school. Applicants must meet all of the eligibility requirements and deadlines to qualify. Scholarship awards are $500 per academic year and are renewable for up to four years (for a maximum award of $2,000). Scholarships should applied towards tuition, room, board, and books. Checks will be mailed from the 100 Black Men's office and made payment to the scholarship recipient.
All complete application and required documentation must be submitted by no later than March 15, 2026. Notification of scholarships will be sent to all applicants in the spring of 2026.
Eligibility Criteria:
High school senior transitioning to college
Minimum grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
Planning to attend an institution for an entire academic year, beginning in the fall of 2025. Verification of enrollment will be required before scholarship is received.
Essay
Applicants are required to submit a 500 - word or less essay that answers the following two questions:
Why do you need financial assistance in the form of a scholarship?
How would a scholarship specifically benefit me during my college enrollment?

Applicants will be required to upload and attach the following document with this application. All components must be uploaded at the time of submission. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Essay
Academic Transcript - You must request an official transcript from your most recent high school. Class schedules, report cards, or progress reports will not be accepted.
Verification of Financial Need - You must demonstrate financial need as indicated by a letter of verification from a teacher, guidance counselor, or other school official with knowledge of the student's financial need.
Recommendation Letter - You must submit one letter of recommendation from a teach, guidance counselor, non-related family member, or community organization that highlights the student's scholastic achievement, extracurricular and community service involvement.
